About

I’m Hannah. I’m a poet and former copywriter trying to transition into the publishing field.

I wrote my first poem when I was about seven, but I really started to gravitate towards the form in high school. Eventually, it led me to decide to study writing in college.

For my undergraduate degree, I attended Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA, where I doubled majored in creative writing and professional writing. I graduated with College and University Honors after completing my senior thesis, a collection of poems entitled Pretty Sad Girl.

After graduation, I started my first full-time job as an Assistant Digital Content Editor for Haymarket Media in New York, NY. After just under a year in that position, I was promoted to Associate Digital Content Editor for The Clinical Advisor, a publication geared towards nurse practitioners and physician assistants.

In August 2016, I left Haymarket to pursue my MFA in creative writing at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. I graduated in May 2019 after completing my creative thesis, a collection of poems.

In September 2019, I joined Gensler, the world’s largest architecture and design firm, as their Regional Marketing Content Writer. Unfortunately, I was laid off in April 2020 due to Covid-19-related budgetary cuts.

During my unemployment, I took the time to explore new career paths, to seek out a job that would ignite real passion in me. I have always, always loved books; I’ve been a voracious reader for as long as I’ve been able to read. Working in print publishing will be a true dream come true for someone who finds magic in every printed page.

Outside of work, I love video games, experimenting with makeup, cooking vegetarian food, and cross stitching.
